Life Is Like A Case of Macarons!!

Good Morning Family!!

Who likes macarons? I know my family does! I personally am not a fan of paying the high prices for them at the stores. I am part of a wedding this year and helping with pre-wedding events and wanted to do something different for the bridal shower then what I have seen before. So I decided macarons would be a nice change compared to cupcakes and cookies for the dessert. But in our area there are few places that sell macarons and the ones that do are very pricey. I have wanted to make homemade macarons for over a year now but was detoured because people were like those are really hard to make, so I had not tired it. A couple weeks ago I said to myself, I am going to give this a try and if it does not work I will just do cupcakes or cookies.

I started off by looking for recipes, the simpler the better, come to find out most of the recipes were simple it is just a matter of following the instruction exactly. I made the first batch just for my family to try and they liked them. Since they turned out well and were liked I decided to make them for the shower, but I wanted to make different flavors of filling for them. Well it just so happened that our girls and I had to go grocery shopping a couple days later and our youngest said mom look and there in the baking aisle was several different flavors of frosting, light bulb moment! So we got 5 flavored and 1 cream cheese, so I can add orange flavoring to it, and now all I have to do is make the cookie part.

I all of this to say I did learn a couple of lessons. I was viewing using store bought frosting as cheating instead of making it from scratch, but no one else did they thought it was good idea. Also that just because others think something is hard does not mean its going to be hard for me, which I knew but needed reminded. I have always liked to bake and most of the time I don't struggle with it.
