Good day Everyone!!
It has been awhile since you have heard from me but I am glad to be back! With the holidays, family, and friends gatherings my family and I have been busy. During this time I have been able to reflect and gain clarity. Which leads me into todays blog post!
As the New Year approached for us all we tend to make resolutions for the up coming year and share them, which is a good thing. But let us reflect on what this year's resolution was did we achieve it or remember what it was. I personally know that I have made resolutions in the past haven't kept them or forgot them and then beat myself up because I didn't stick with it. So my goal this year is to be a better version of who God created me to be! Now I know this isn't a specific goal but it does leave me open to set smaller realistic daily, weekly, and monthly goals. One of these smaller goals is to plan and make dinners, not just quick pop it in the oven, but actually home cooked meals. My mom taught all of her kids to cook and that is something I want to share with our daughters more often!! For Christmas I was giving 2 very special gifts to help me in this area before I actually committed to it. Both gifts were cook books first was a Betty Crocker(1st picture below), specific edition that my mom had growing up, our mom searched and found 4 of these books to give to me and my sisters. The second was a Goose Berry Patch healthy cooking cookbook(2nd picture below) given to me by my mother-in-law. These both fit into my small daily goal for healthy home cooked meals.
I want to encourage each one of you to do something similar. Starting with a general goal for the year and then smaller goals through out the year. Seize today and take care of what you are presently blessed with. Taking care of what we have has been a running thought and theme for my husband over the last few months and earlier this week it hit me. My husband and I want to train up our daughters to be good stewards and the best way to do that is be good examples! Matthew 25: 14- 30
